Supporting our Members to Succeed

Our Membership reflects the diversity of the Antarctic Treaty System community we serve

COMNAP members have a unique perspective on improving and implementing ways for everyone to feel welcomed, safe and respected in Antarctica and to ensure we contribute to preventing harassment. This unique perspective stems from our work at the interface between the research communities we serve and the workforce that operates the stations and field camps. COMNAP presented Welcoming the Power of Diversity in our Membership (2022) and is working together on the Welcomed, Safe & Respected (WSR) project.

ATCM Multi-Year Strategic Work Plan, Priority Item 13

“Address equality, diversity and inclusion issues, by promoting full participation of underrepresented groups in Antarctic science and operations activities across all Antarctic issues, including science, operations, policy and law.“

We are committed to energising and keeping safe our people through sharing of best practice, networking and providing reliable information

Assisting Members to make informed choices based on guidance built on the collective first-hand knowledge and wide expertise of the Membership is critical for success.

COMNAP recognises the contributions that people, at different stages of their careers, made to the goals and principles of COMNAP.

To support and recognise these people, COMNAP established the COMNAP Award Scheme.
